A very elegant and elaborate antiqued mirrored glass sideboard, made in Venice, and decorated in the very decorative eglomise style. This is a French term, translating as "gilded glass".

Quite simply, the back of a piece of glass is gilded with gold leaf, and sometimes with silver leaf, to superb effect.

The wooden parts are oak, treated with black oil.
